     科學院寧波材料技術與工程研究所成立于2004年4月，是科學院在浙江布局建立的shoujiaJI研究機構，是科學院在“知識創新工程”試點工作向“創新跨越、持續發展”推進的新階段，與地方政府共同出資建設的一個新的直屬科研機構。不僅填補了當時中科院在全省研究機構中布局的空白，也大地提升了寧波乃至浙江省的創新能力，為寧波乃至浙江新材料產業發展提供了強大的創新動力，已成為全省新材料技術研究的人才、技術和創新高地。
